Hi everyone,

This is Jasmine.

  1. I think Universal Design for Learning is a set of guiding principles and frameworks for curriculum design to resolve the differences in students’ individual learning conditions and help all students achieve efficient learning. This teaching model meets the needs of all students by providing more flexibility and reducing learning barriers. It divides learning into three parts-performance, action and expression, and participation, and provides multiple ways to achieve each part. In the classrooms I have experienced, my teachers will use written or oral methods, using videos and pictures to teach. Then, in order to test the students’ knowledge mastery, the teacher may ask the students to discuss in small groups or think independently, creating written texts, pictures or sitcoms to show what they have learned. Finally, in order to get the students involved, the teacher can ask the students to write a personal report, give feedback on the work within the group, or take us on a virtual field trip. Under the UDL framework, each student chooses his own unique learning path without being forced to do what they don’t like to do.
  2. GoConqr is a social learning platform that allows individual learners, educators, institutions and, companies to create and share learning content. The software is suited for educational institutions, human resources departments, talent development and training, sales teams, marketing teams, and customer support groups. When teachers use GoConqr, students can be divided into different groups. Flexible classrooms start from flexible learning spaces, including quiet personal learning spaces, suitable for small and large groups. Large and clear signs will also help most students. Allowing students to wear headphones to eliminate noise interference is another good option. Under the UDL framework, teachers can use GoConqr to continuously give feedback. Based on the goals set at the beginning of the course, teachers can communicate with students whether they have reached the goals for the day. This can help students reflect on their own learning, know what was done well and what was wrong, and encourage them to do better next time.

Thanks.
