Learning theory and Technology in Education
My preferred teaching method reliable on constructivism. I believe learning for each individual student is unique, as they different learning experience and learning styles. Every student has different understanding levels. According to Bates (2019) constructivism emphasise on the consciousness, free mind, and learning by social influence.
I was teaching science to higher primary students, in my class I prefer to teach by using science model, charts and diagrammatic representation of any topic. For science: Functions of human organs, life cycles of any organism etc. I believe this helps students to understand well about the concept. I used to suggest students to watch videos on YouTube before class, this helps to make class interesting for them. Asking question about the ongoing lecture before acts as an ice breaker for me. Assigning students into groups to discuss their knowledge with each other helps them to socialize with other students and improve their knowledge.
As an educator learning about use technology is an advancement for my teaching carrier. Therefore, using technology along with traditional teaching help students to explore more interactive and boosts their interest. As they can visualize the live concepts of science. So, I believe technology can be used around the vast areas of education in different forms.
Thank you.

Hi Azeezunnisa,
You mention that your preferred approach is constructivist in teaching science. Have you found any limitations to it and have you regularly incorporated other approaches (particularly with regard to Educational Technology)?
Best,
Joe
