My preferred teaching method is consistent with constructivism. Bates (2019) stated that constructivism values the role of consciousness and free beliefs. I think that when students learn consciously, they will understand more about the meaning of learning to them, which will also promote students to learn more actively. The subjective initiative of students is very helpful to theirs learning, and constructivism in a sense focuses on improving the subjective initiative of students, which is one of the reasons why I prefer it. Arik and Yilmaz (2020) stated that in the constructivist learning method, the teacher is only a guide, and the student is the leader of knowledge.
I think that most activities that allow students to experiment can use constructivism. For example, the question “Is there the same leaves in the world?”, letting students find leaves to answer this question is a constructivist learning method. Students are very likely to feel the joy of learning in the process of searching for leaves. The reason is that they actively participate in the process of learning this knowledge.
I think the impact of new digital technologies on behaviorism may be to reshape some well-defined behaviors, for example, students do not have to put their textbooks on the desk before class. The reason is that some learning materials may be carried electronically by students. The impact on constructivism may be a decline in student participation because for some questions that need to be actually explored, such as whether the leaves are similar, students can directly search for answers online. The influence on connectivism is to promote its development because the theory itself is related to digital technologies.

Hi Ruili,
I shared your point that from constructive lens, students learn actively and consciously from school and from their own experience. Let’s talk about our situation in this pandemic. We have learned to use computers, forum, social media for a quite period of time. However, Covid 19 had forced us to use these stuff more wisely and effectively. When this situation is over, we will also learn new things about technology not just from books but from our real experience. It is constructivism.
Sincerly,
Kate
Hi Ruili,
In constructivism, the teacher’s guidance is very important. I think that after the teacher has made a good direction, and consciously explores where the students are interested, then the students will be interested and motivated to learn.
Thanks,
