Distance education is a new type of education model formed under the promotion of technological development and social demand. It is a new type of education method that combines information technology and modern educational thoughts (Guy & Roberts, 1998) with computer, multimedia, modern communication and other information technologies as the main means. Distance learning breaks the time and space limitations of the traditional education system and breaks the education method based on teacher teaching, which is conducive to personalized learning and expands the scope of education. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 this year, distance education began to be widely used worldwide.
BigBlue Button is one of the ways of distance education and the method used by our university for distance education.BigBlueButton is a web conferencing application that is fully integrated into Canvas, providing a virtual classroom that supports video, audio, and text communications. BigBlueButton also features an on-screen whiteboard display for presentation materials and provides faculty with facilities for sharing content on their screen. Due to COVID-19, the Big Blue button is widely used to transfer education to every corner of the world due to multiple features. The big blue button is very effective as it helps the learner to work collaboratively in different breakout rooms. The instructors and learner can also share their screens. The participant in BBB can also communicate with each other in the chatbox.
