Hi everyone,
This is Lingjin Liu (Clarity). I am so sorry for the late response about week 3 scholarly discussion.
My preferred way of teaching is using constructivism. Bednar et al., (1991) defined that constructivism is a theory that equates learning with creating meaning from experience (as cited in Ertmer, P. A., & Newby, T. J. 2013). This learning theory emphasizes the role of students’ learning experiences and teachers’ instruction. Teachers help students construct their learning network by their experiences, not just teach students knowledge. Students play a main and important role in learning through the constructivism learning theory.
When I was a practice Chinese elementary school teacher, I always asked students to pre-view articles that we would learn the next day. The reason why I did so was that I wanted students to learn ahead by themselves to construct their primary learning framework and had their questions about this article, and when I taught them in class, they would solve questions targeted with my help. In this way would they be the central of learning, teachers just leaded them.
In my opinion, digital technologies will decrease students’ engagement in classes. Students will find answers by their process of learning, when they use technology in classes, they can easily find the solution through the Internet. It will affect students’ enthusiasm in learning.
Thank you.

Hi Clarity,
I think you are right.
Teachers help students construct their learning network by their experiences, not just teach students knowledge. Students play a main and important role in learning through the constructivism learning theory.
I also think that students could learn from teachers and teachers could learn from students.
Thank you for sharing.
