F-shaped pattern VS Dual coding theory.
According to Paivio(1971), dual coding is that teacher address Information through both verbal and visual. I think many teachers have tried to use this method to teach and its efficient in my opinion.
It’s the first time I know about F-shaped pattern, I usually look at web pages very fast because I want to browse a lot of information in a certain amount of time. However, if the teacher gives a large amount of information to the students at one time, the students will not be able to absorb it and cause a quick glance, failing to achieve the teaching purpose.
On the contrary, dual-coding is a great way to promote memory and cognition. Especially for students below grad12, using pictures and videos to assist in explaining knowledge will make them absorb faster and better integrate knowledge with reality.

Hi Kenna,
I think that a large amount of information is indeed not conducive to the rapid absorption of students, which is why the reading emphasizes the use of skimming and scanning methods to help students find important information quickly. Of course, dual-coding does use different methods, such as using pictures or videos to help learners understand, which is a very effective method when explaining certain knowledge.
