Hi everyone,
This is Lingjin Liu (Clarity), I hope you all are doing well.
Kennette and Willson (2019) defined that Universal Design for Learning is an approach to curriculum development aimed at removing barriers in education to make it accessible to the largest number of learners. It consists of three principles: multiple means of representation, multiple means of action and expression, and multiple means of engagement.
UDL is an educational framework based on research in the learning sciences, including cognitive neuroscience, that guides the development of flexible learning environments that can accommodate individual learning differences. There is a framework for every course about the goal, teaching and learning strategies and so on. In my school, every teacher should set their teaching goals for students and develop different kinds of teaching activities to raise students’ interest in learning. Based on teachers’ work, every student has their own learning strategies.
To be honest, I think that PIXTON is not a good tool for the teacher when creating a UDL, because the pattern of PIXTON is sole, they only can make comics for teaching and learning, teachers can’t develop many kinds of teaching activities, even though it is a good tool for students to establishing their learning network by making comics.

Thank you for your post Clarity. Pixton seems like it could fall under the UDL model if it were to be an option to showcase learning in some way. Most apps I would argue probably do not provide much in the way of a UDL context but when used appropriately could follow the UDL guidelines and allow learners to show what they know in various ways.
Thank you Clarity. I agree with you that some online APP don’t meet the needs of UDL, same as the App I reviewed called Socrative. It don’t allow the teacher to create multiple ways to teach students individually. I agree with Roy on the point. We can use it appropriately to meet our needs of UDL.
