“The Emergence of Technology for Bettherment of Education”

My responsibility as an educator for several years, is to create an environment where students are empowered to think critically and creatively, to learn, to seek recourses to achieve their learning goals and to develop their self-efficacy. As Pinar (1994) writes, “We cannot expect to meaningfully participate in the transformation of the nation and it’s educational institutions if we fail to authentically participate in the constitution and transformation of ourselves and our work” (p. 74). Then my next preference is to change the learning environment by introducing hand made attractive teaching aids, modern technologies for example, Laptop and Projector, and demonstrating small science experiments that have play eternal role in the teaching-learning process. According to Raja et. al. (2018) proves that, “Visual images always have a strong appeal compared to words” (p. 33).

As an educator I believe on constructivism learning theory because in this the teacher does the role of a guide and provides free self learning environment for the learners. Kretchmar (2019) comments that, “ Constructivism is about epistemology, a branch of philosophy that studies the nature of knowledge: What it is that we know, and how we know what we know” (p. 1). I prefer this learning theory because of several reasons. Firstly, constructivism is a learning theory that associates learning with creating meaning from experiences. Prouix (2005) states that, “Constructivism asserts that our previous experiences serve as the lenses through which we read the world” (p. 5). Secondly, learning is more meaningful to students when they can interact with a problem or concept. Thirdly, constructivism can help engage and motivate students by making them take a more active role in the learning process. Constructivism utilizes interactive teaching strategies to create essential contexts that help students construct knowledge based on their own experiences.

According to Bates (2019) states that, modern technologies provide new chance for developing old teaching styles which offers finer learning outcomes even better than existing ones. Thus, I begun the creation of creative Power Point Presentations to make lessons more interesting by adding videos and animated pictures. Use of modern technology like Power Point Presentation, projections make learning more engaging and amusing. (Raja et. al., 2018).

According to my teaching philosophy child’s education should be categorized into three phases, namely, foundation, building knowledge, and actual learning experiences. In the foundation stage, as learning is a continuous process the learner can learn from their home and past learning experiences. I believe that all children are unique and must have a stimulating educational environment where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially.

In addition, in my opinion, a classroom should be a safe, caring community  where children are free to speak their minds, blossom and grow.
